We are only minutes away from UFC 114, taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. “Suga” Rashad Evans looks to show Quinton “Rampage” Jackson who the king of the UFC Light Heavyweight Division really is. Other fights include Michael “The Count” Bisping hooking up with Dan Miller, Antonio Rogerio Nogueir tangos with Jason “Hitman” Brilz, and Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez fighting John “The Hitman” Hathaway. Stay tuned with BoutSportsReport.com as we bring you up to the minute updates on every round of every fight!!
Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez vs. John “The Hitman” Hathaway – Sanchez started the fight with a quick shoot, but that was easily defended by Hathaway. Hathaway’s huge knee to the face of Diego turned the round in his favor, and Hathaway was able to control the rest of the first round from there. The second round is much of the same as Hathaway lands a couple of big right hands. The Nightmare finally lands some blows in the 3rd round, but it wasn’t enough. John Hathaway looked impressive in his first bout ever in the United States. He is truly an up and coming force in the welterweight division. Watch out George St Pierre!!
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Jason “Hitman” Brilz – Brilz pulls out the first round in a pretty even round. He did a little better controlling the fight than Little Nog. Little Nog starts the 2nd round strong with a near guillotine choke, but it was soon countered on him when Brilz almost made him tap with the same move. Brilz landed a huge right hand at the end of the 2nd round that really rocked Little Nog. Little Nog finally started to look like the fighter he is supposed to be. He slapped a crucifix on Brilz halfway through the round, but couldn’t do anything with it. Little Nog just simply gassed out. This fight was a classic example of not letting the fight go to the judges, as Little Nog takes the split decision win.
Todd Duffee vs. Mike Russow – The first round started, and it wasn’t even close. Duffee looked like he trained hard, and was mentally and physically prepared. Russow looked like he didn’t. The pace of the 2nd round slowed drastically, however the outcome of the round didn’t. Russo is simply overmatched by the athleticism of Duffee. The 3rd round starts the same, but out of nowhere, Russow lands a right hand across Duffee’s chin and knocks him out. The craziest turn of events in UFC history!!
Michael “The Count” Bisping vs. Dan Miller – The first round was a typical stand up fight, with both fighters trading punches. It was a pretty even round, but Bisping landed a few more punches. The 2nd round mirrored the first, as Bisping dictated the pace of the fight. Midway through the round, Bisping landed a huge right hand that put Miller in danger of getting knocked out. The 3rd round was no different from the first 2. It was puzzling why Miller didn’t try to push the fight to the ground, where he is much more comfortable, but he stood up with Bisping with little success. Bisping takes the fight by judge’s unanimous decision
“Suga” Rashad Evans vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson – Rashad came out swinging, as he nearly knocked Rampage out early. Evans then showed his take down skills taking Rampage out with a spear. Towards the end of the round, however, Rampage looked like the Rampage we all know with a nice flurry of punches to close the round out. Rashad continued with the dictation of the pace of the fight into the 2nd round. It looks as if the speed of Evans is just too much for Rampage. Rampage has been taking out of his element, and frustration is starting to set in. The 3rd round say a turn of events. Rampage came out strong and almost delivered a knock out to Evans. However, Rampage gave him too much recovery time, and Evans was able to come back and score 2 huge take downs late in the round. “Suga” Rashad Evans was just too much for Rampage to handle tonight. Rashad wins via unanimous decision.
